Qualifier Stage
The qualifier stage determines team seeding for the main tournament bracket. Each team must register for a qualifier timeslot through the tournament Discord server. A referee will be supplied for each registered qualifier match.
Schedule Information
Qualifier matches will only be held between Friday, February 7th, 2025, 00:00 UTC and Sunday, February 9th, 2025, 23:59 UTC. This time window is strictly enforced—no exceptions will be made for matches outside these hours.
Match Preparation
Before the Match
Time | Action |
---|---|
15 minutes before | Referee will contact team captain via Discord |
5 minutes before | Referee will create the lobby and invite the captain |
Until start | Captain is responsible for inviting their team members |
Captain Substitution
If the team captain cannot attend:
- Notify the referee in advance
- Designate a temporary captain
- Provide the temporary captain’s osu! username
Late Penalties
Teams must have 4 players ready to play at their scheduled time. Late penalties vary based on lobby type:
Shared Lobbies
If a team arrives late to a lobby that has already started:
- They may still participate if their 4th player arrives before the NoMod section ends
- The team will play alongside other teams and complete any missed maps after the regular lobby ends
- If unable to field 4 players before NoMod section ends, team must reschedule
Solo Team Lobbies
If a team is 15 minutes late:
- Their qualifier lobby will be canceled
- Team must attempt to reschedule
Rescheduling Notes:
- Late rescheduling requests or requests for extra lobbies are not guaranteed
- Staff will attempt to accommodate but cannot guarantee availability
- Teams should arrive on time to their original slot to ensure participation
Team Requirements
Team Size and Composition
- Teams must have between 4-8 players total
- A minimum of 4 players must be available for each map
- Teams may rotate players between maps
- All players must be registered team members
Match Participation
- 4 players must actively participate in each map
- While not all team members need to be present for matches, the minimum of 4 players is required
Match Format
The qualifier match consists of one complete playthrough of the qualifier mappool, with an option for a second playthrough to improve scores.
Mappool Order
Maps must be played in this sequence:
- NoMod: NM1, NM2, NM3, NM4
- Hidden: HD1, HD2
- HardRock: HR1, HR2
- DoubleTime: DT1, DT2
Between Maps
- Teams have 120 seconds to prepare for each map
- Referee will start the map within 10 seconds after this preparation period
- All maps require 4 players to participate
Second Playthrough
After completing all maps, teams may:
- Take a 5-minute break
- Select specific maps to improve their scores
- Use different players than their first playthrough
- Skip maps they don’t wish to replay
The second playthrough must:
- Begin immediately after the break
- Follow the original mappool order
- Have maps selected for replay declared by the captain before starting
Match Settings
All qualifier maps will be played with:
- Head-to-Head scoring
- NoFail mod enabled
- ScoreV2 enabled
- Team VS mode
Technical Issues
Disconnections
- If a player disconnects during a map due to technical issues, they may replay that map after all qualifier maps are completed
- To prevent abuse of this system, only one player may use this replay rule for one map per team
- For any additional disconnections:
- The disconnected player will receive a score of 0
- Exception: If suitable proof of score can be provided (e.g., local score screenshot with time/date)
This replay limitation exists to prevent teams from strategically using “disconnections” to improve scores by replaying maps multiple times.
Scoring & Results
Results determine bracket stage seeding:
- Teams must complete one full playthrough with 4 players per map
- For teams completing two playthroughs:
- Most recent score for each map will be used
- Seeding will be calculated using the Zipfian Distribution
- Teams will be disqualified for:
- Not scheduling a qualifier lobby
- Not completing one full playthrough
- Not having 4 players for each map
